Support Worker/ Enabler-Waking Nights and Evenings (TWO ROLES)

The Role:

Our clientis a bright 5-year-old boy who lives with his wonderful and dedicated family. He has cerebral palsy, which causes difficulty with movement, expressive communication and participating everyday tasks. He uses an eye gaze to communicate.

The role will involve duties, such as supporting him with his personal care, washing and dressing. This includes support to move and be well positioned and includes use of manual handling equipment. Other duties include assisting meal preparation (as he has a blended diet via his PEG) assisting with client related domestic tasks, facilitating play and any rehabilitation support as directed by the MDT.

Full training in all aspects of our client’s support will be given and you will be supported by his Case Manager.

About You:

You will provide a supportive, engaging and child-centred approach to our client by following his Care plan and helping him achieve his educational, developmental and rehabilitation goals, whilst gaining confidence along the way.

You will be kind, positive, reliable, and able to build a relationship of trust with our client and family.

You may be required to assist with supporting our client to travel to appointments or school. For this reason, you would need to be a driver, hold a full UK driving license and be over 21 (for insurance purposes).

You will have sound experience in caring for children of similar age. It is desirable that you have knowledge and experience in caring for children with cerebral palsy/additional needs, however this is not essential.

Pay:

£14 per hour weekdays

£16 per hour weekend days

£16 per hour weekday waking nights

School Holidays- 34.5 Hrs/wk (Additional hours by agreement)

Mon, Tues Wed 08.00-15.30

Waking Nights

Tues, Wed, Thurs 22.00-08.00

Contract

DAYS- Permanent contract 12 hours per week.

NIGHTS- Permanent contract 30hrs per week
